· We present a novel primitive known as a block cipher, which enables the development of more potent encryption techniques.
· We'll examine two well-known block-cipher designs, AES and 3DES, and learn how to encrypt data using them.
· The mainstay of cryptography, block ciphers are useful in a wide range of situations. We will examine the usage of block ciphers to ensure data integrity next Lecture.
· This Lecture’s optional programming project encourages students to use AES to construct an encryption/decryption system.
